A collective global endeavour needs to be made to deal with a cutting edge digital technology that also carries with it considerable disruptive potential. This discussion explored the future of crypto currency digitisation and how the G20 nations can come together to make this possible.
As part of its G20 Presidency agenda India is seeking to get governments to agree to a common regulatory framework for cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum. This would include issues like taxation, financial integrity and the possible macro economic stability implications of such digital products. India is drawing from proposals made by the IMF, OECD, and the Financial Stability Board and Bank of International Settlements but still has to find a common ground. Srikumar Misra is a serial entrepreneur and thought leader in conscious capitalism. He is the founder of a new decentralized asset management platform at the intersection of web3 and AI. Sri’s previous successes include founding India’s first VC-funded agri-foods startup, Milk Mantra, now a scaled up purpose driven consumer brand. Prior to that, he was with the TAS, going on to lead emerging markets consumer M&A for the Tata Group. Sri’s work has been covered extensively including in WSJ, Bloomberg, Forbes and also in case studies at Stanford and IIM-A. A fellow of the Aspen Institute and Yale, he is also an amateur mountaineer, preparing to scale his next 6000m summit in the Himalayas. Sri’s vision for the future of decentralized finance and commitment to democratizing access make him an innovative force in the crypto ecosystem, where he’s creating a new protocol for transforming the asset management industry.

Mr Jaideep Reddy, Counsel – Trilegal
Jaideep is a technology lawyer, qualified to practice in India and California, U.S.A., whose areas of practice include crypto and blockchain, payments, privacy and data, e-commerce, and gaming. Since 2016, he has developed a deep specialization in the law relating to crypto and blockchain technology. He has provided Indian law advice to nearly all the leading Indian and international crypto and blockchain platforms. He led his previous firm’s successful representation of the Internet and Mobile Association of India, the lead petitioner, in the landmark 2020 Supreme Court case which set aside a central bank restriction on virtual Currencies. He has written and been quoted extensively on crypto and blockchain technology and other emerging technology issues, and is a visiting faculty at the National Law School of India University, Bengaluru. He has been recognised as a Rising Star by Legal500 (Legalease) and as a notable practitioner by Chambers and Partners Fintech Guide.
Mr Arnab Kumar, Director, India Market, Coinbase
Arnab Kumar is Director, India Market for Coinbase. Previously, he was India Director for Fintech Investments & Strategy at Prosus. Arnab’s professional credentials also include serving as Program Director, Frontier Technologies at NITI Aayog and working as an Investment Banker for Deutsche Bank across their New York and Singapore desks. Arnab is an alumnus of Indian School of Business, Hyderabad and Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
