On 21 July 2026, the Ananta Centre hosted a roundtable discussion, “Lines Drawn in the Water: Ten Years of the PCA Ruling on the South China Sea,” with H.E. Ambassador Josel F. Ignacio, Ambassador of the Philippines to India. Marking a decade since the Permanent Court of Arbitration’s landmark 2016 ruling, the discussion brought together officials from the Ministry of External Affairs, members of the diplomatic community, and independent experts for a candid conversation on the ruling’s legacy, the state of the dispute today, and the road ahead for the region.
