The bilateral relations between India and Singapore are substantive, comprehensive and warm. In order to enhance mutual understanding between the intelligentsia of the two countries. It is co-convened by Ananta Aspen Centre, Institute of South Asian Studies (ISAS) of National University of Singapore (NUS) and Confederation of Indian Industry. The India-Singapore Strategic Dialogue was launched in 2007 after the meeting of the two foreign ministers under the leadership of Ambassador S K Lambah and Ambassador Tommy Koh. Both sides have met 12 times so far, the last dialogue was held in July 2019 in New Delhi.
14th India-Singapore Strategic Dialogue 2022 | 9-10 December, New Delhi
The Ananta Aspen Centre along with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), and the Institute of South Asian Studies, National University Singapore, co-convened the 14th edition of the India-Singapore Strategic Dialogue (ISSD), December 2022, in New Delhi. The dialogue was co-chaired by Mr. Jamshyd Godrej, Chairman, Godrej & Boyce Manufacturing Co Ltd, Mr. Rajan Navani, Vice Chairman and MD, Jetline Group of Companies, and Ambassador Ong Keng Yong, Chairman, S Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. The dialogue was held in person after a gap of three years due to the pandemic at the Institute for Studies in Industrial Development, New Delhi.
The sessions covered the bilateral ties between India and Singapore, ASEAN, climate, technology, Quad, IPEF, and China. Mr. Vishvas Vidu Sapkal, Joint Secretary (South), addressed the Indian and Singapore delegations for the dinner session. The discussions enabled deeper conversations and were unanimously appreciated. The dialogue was also attended by Ms. Alice Cheng, Deputy High Commissioner of Singapore to India, Mr. N K Singh, Chairman, 15th Finance Commission and Trustee, Ananta Aspen Centre, and Mr. Sujeet Kumar, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha. The discussions were very rich and the feedback from all participants has been very positive.
