New Zealand has been famous in India for cricket and kiwis. But uncertain global geopolitics are bridging distances in more ways than one, as India and New Zealand look to build a deeper political and security relationship. Since the new government took office in Wellington, India and New Zealand are prioritizing building their partnership in the Indo-Pacific, particularly with regard to maritime cooperation. The Ananta Centre hosted a conversation between the New Zealand High Commissioner David Pine and Ms Indrani Bagchi, CEO, Ananta Centre.
The High Commissioner has highlighted and mentioned that New Zealand is promoting and celebrating cultural and sporting space for lifting up relationship with India.
He spoke about strong bilateral ties, especially in the context of changing geopolitical situation work globally and regionally.
The conversation was attended by a vastly distinguished audience consisting of diplomats, journalists, students etc. The rich conversation and High Commissioner David Pine’s singing skills by playing a traditional Māori song made this session memorable for our participants.
