India-EU Strategic Dialogue 2025

The India–EU Strategic Dialogue, held in Brussels from 8–10 October 2025, was co-convened by Ananta Centre, the EU Institute for Security Studies (EUISS), and Institut Montaigne, in collaboration with their respective foreign ministries. This high-level, track 1.5 closed-door forum brought together senior government officials, leading scholars, and policy experts to engage in in-depth strategic discussions on shared challenges and opportunities.

Key themes emerging from the dialogue included:

  • Intensifying geopolitical competition and global uncertainty are prompting both the EU and India to recalibrate their strategic and economic priorities within an increasingly fragmented international order.
  • Geoeconomic fragmentation, from shifting supply chains to selective multilateralism; is accelerating, highlighting the renewed importance of EU–India coordination.
  • The Trade and Technology Council (TTC) continues to be a pivotal platform, though clearer pathways for implementation and cross-sectoral linkages are needed.
  • Strengthening mobility and investment frameworks is critical to translating political commitments into tangible economic outcomes.
  • Growing convergence in the Indo-Pacific and security domains underscores the potential for a broader, values-driven strategic partnership.
