Interaction with Mélanie Joly, Canadian Foreign Minister on Canada’s Indo-Pacific Strategy

Canada’s Indo-Pacific Strategy aims to foster economic, security and political interest in the region. The Indo-Pacific region is significant because of its geopolitical architecture, energy security, supply chain and economic opportunities. Decisions made within the framework of the Indo-Pacific will produce generational global shifts. Ananta Centre’s CEO, Indrani Bachi, engaged in an energetic and dynamic interaction with Canada’s Foreign Minister, Mélani Joly, over their new Indo-pacific strategy. The interaction discussed benefits, resilient supply chain, sustainable growth, shared perception of security, politics and economics in the region. The five objectives of IPS promote peace and security.  The conversation focused on partnership and cooperation between countries to foster growth that leads towards a rule-based, free and fair region. The platform provided a deep understanding of India and Canada’s shared vision of the region and recognising areas of collaboration to achieve goals to shape the future of the Indo-Pacific.
