Aspen Institute India organized a session with the Minister of State for Environment and Forests Mr. Jairam Ramesh on India’s role at the Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen in December 2009. Mr. Ramesh explained how for the first time, the issue of climate change was dominated more by the developing nations, i.e. the BASIC (Brazil, South Africa, India, China).
