(India Delegation with Congressman Steny Hoyer)
The India-US relations, in the past year, have observed intense engagement with the promise of elevating relations to a new height. The inaugural meeting of the ‘2+2 Dialogue’ between the External Affairs Minister with US Secretary of State and the Defence Minister with US Defence Secretary followed by signing of long-pending Communications Compatibility and Security Agreement (COMCASA) were momentous developments in the bilateral relationship.
The US sanction waiver to India on import of Iranian oil, development and operation of Chabahar port and defence deals with Russia demonstrate the growing trust and dependability between the two countries. There is a growing understanding and deeper consultation between India and the US.
